Washington > Black Diamond Half Marathon
Enumclaw, WA
Date
Sunday, September 14, 2008
Event
Details
Part of a two-day festival of events that takes place at Enumclaw's
Nolte State Park, on the western edge of the Cascade Mountain range,
and includes a half iron triathlon and an endurance duathlon on
Saturday, the Black Diamond Half Marathon takes runners on a scenic,
rural course through the area considered the gateway to Mount Rainier
National Park. Consisting of both paved and dirt roads and run with few
hills throughout the race, the course runs along mostly quiet country
roads and finishes along a dirt trail that circles Deep Lake in the
center of Nolte State Park.
This small half marathon event (it drew just over 100 participants in
2006) takes place just a 40-minute drive from Seattle, and due to the
limited parking available within Nolte, bus transportation will be
provided to ferry participants to and from the race from nearby
Enumclaw.
