Event
Details
Part of a weekend of athletic festivities organized by the Chelan
Multisport Group, a volunteer organization that raises funds and stages
events to promote healthy lifestyles for local kids and adults, the
Chelan Multisport Half Marathon takes runners along an out-and-back
course that starts and ends at Don Morse Park on the shore of Lake
Chelan, a glacier-fed lake that sits just to the southeast of the
state's Cascade Mountain range and North Cascades National Park. The
course for the half-marathon (as for all the weekend running events,
including the 10K and 5K) takes places entirely on paved roads and
paths.
The race -- the course is described as "moderately hilly" by race
organizers -- begins at 8:30 AM on Sunday at Don Morse Park on the
lakeshore, and takes runners eastward along Lakeshore Drive, and west
along Woodin and South Lakeshore Drive before turning back toward the
park for the finish.
