Washington > Lake Samish Runs Half Marathon & 6.5-Mile Run
Bellingham, WA • Sunday, January 8, 2012 • Course Map
The first road race of the year hosted by the Greater Bellingham Running Club, this event's 2012 running will mark the 35th anniversary of the Annual Lake Samish Runs Half Marathon & 6.5-Mile Run, a loop course road race that takes runners around the entire circumference of Washington State's Lake Samish, near Bellingham. Run on paved country roads that see little traffic (and remain open to automobiles during the event), the race is mostly flat with a few rolling hills thrown in.
With markers at each mile throughout the course, the 6.5-mile race takes runners once around the lake, while the half-marathon is a double loop around the lake. Thanks in part to the wintry weather this time of year, the event starts at 10:00 AM.
