Elma,
WA
Date

Event
Details
Runners get a chance to run through the countryside of this small
Washington State town about a half-hour's drive west of the state
capital Olympia, at the Spring Fitness Half Marathon road race, which
also includes a 10-mile run, 10K and 5K races and a 1-mile "Fun Run"
for kids.
This year marks the third annual running of the race, which follows a
fast and flat out-and-back course that race organizers
describe as perfect for veteran runners as well as beginning runners.
Open to all levels of participants -- meaning the race is open to
walkers, joggers and runners alike -- the course for the half marathon
(the Spring Fitness Half Marathon also
includes a 10-mile, 10K, 5K and 1-Mile "Fun Run" event) features very
few hills and takes runners almost entirely along paved scenic country
roads throughout Elma's rural roads. The race starts and finishes at
nearby Vance Creek Park, situated off Wenzel Slough Road just south of
the town, with a starting time of 10:00 AM.
