Details
Take a run through the scenic, pastoral Trout Lake Valley in southern
Washington State at the Trout Lake Run, a half-marathon, 10K &
5K running event that starts and finishes at Trout Lake School -- where
you'll be able to shower after your run if you like.
The out-and-back loop course for the 13.1 miles of the half marathon
includes plenty of water along the way, as runners follow portions of
the course along the banks of Trout Creek and cross the White Salmon
River, all while running in the shadow of nearby Mount Adams, a
12,276-ft. mountain that provides grand views for participants
throughout the race.
The race is a fundraiser for the Trout Lake School's graduating class
of 2012, and covers mostly relatively flat terrain throughout the
course -- the course starts and finishes at about 1,900 feet above sea
level. The race is also run entirely on paved surfaces, and race
organizers describe the views as "incredible."

Due to its mountain location, organizers say, Trout Lake could
experience either beautiful, sunny weather or pouring rain. In April,
