Details
Located just a few minutes' drive from nearby Seattle, Bellevue will
welcome around 3,500 runners and walkers to this year's Virginia Mason
Team Medicine Marathon & Half Marathon at Seafair, which starts
and finishes at the city's Bellevue Downtown Park. Run on a fairly
hilly course that features moderate uphills and downhills through the
first half of the race and a steeper downhill in the second half,
especially from miles 8 to 9, the race takes runners along a course
consisting entirely of paved city streets, past views of the city's
numerous parks and waterfront areas.
Open to both runners and walkers, the half marathon begins at 7:15 AM
(for runners) and 7:30 AM (for the walkers), and features a Nordic
Walking division in this year's race. The elevation changes along the
13.1 miles of the half course range from a minimum of 25 feet to a
maximum of 409 feet above sea level. Also new this year is the event's
Kids Mini-Marathon, in which children participants run the final mile
of 26.2 they have run prior to race day.
