Freedom's Run Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K > Course Map
Runners follow an out-and-back loop course at West Virginia's Freedom's Run Half Marathon, which starts and finishes in downtown Shepherdstown and takes runners across the Potomac River into Virginia and onto the historic grounds of the Antietam National Battlefield Park, the site of the infamous 1862 Civil War battle. About 4 1/2 of the race's 13.1 miles take runners through the battlefield park, past several of its historic sites including the Burnside Bridge.

Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
