Event Details

Hosted by the local Boys and Girls Club of Barron County and sponsored by the Luther Midelfort Northland Mayo Health System, the Tater Trot Half Marathon & 5K celebrates its third annual running in the fall of 2008, taking runners on a challenging out-and-back loop course that starts and finishes at Rice Lake's Moon lake Soccer Fields at the intersection of South Street and Kern Avenue. The half-marathon race takes runners through the rolling, scenic countryside just south of town, while the 5K race follows a faster and flatter course with views of the lake from which the town gets its name. Both races start at 10:00 AM, and are followed by post-race festivities with lots of activities for kids.

Race Weather & Climate

Located in the northwestern part of the state, about a two-hour drive from the Minnesota city of Minneapolis, the small Wisconsin town of Rice Lake generally experiences cool (and sometimes cold) weather conditions in the mid-fall season, with much drier weather on average than the late summer months. In October, average monthly temperatures range between 56°F and 36°F, while rainfall totals average around 2.5 inches for the month.

Fees

$45 if registered by October 16, 2008
$50 on the day of the race
