With a start and finish in nearby St. Charles, the Race 13.1 St. Louis Half unfolds along 13 miles of scenic greenways and through the Weldon Spring Conservation Area, as well as stretches along the Missouri River and the Katy and Hamburg trails.

2) Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Amazing Half Marathon • Baton Rouge, LA

Get ready to race through the “Red Stick” (the English translation of the French “Baton Rouge”) at this late winter race, which starts near the Old State Capitol building and features stretches through the campus of Louisiana State University.

Runners are set to make their way along western Oregon’s scenic Row River Trail at the Cottage Grove Half Marathon, which starts at an elementary school here in this small town and then runs out onto the trail, a onetime railroad line that today is a 15.6-mile paved walking, running and hiking trail.

5) Happy Half Marathon • Ellicottville, NY

Known for its skiing and annual winter blues festival as well as its plentiful outdoor activities in the warmer months, this small town in western New York state plays host in the spring to this all-new race, which also features a 5K race and a Beer Mile for “those with iron stomachs.”
