5 Virtual Running Challenges You Can Do in 2015

1) 2,015 Miles in 2015

This challenge, hosted by Adam Goucher and Tim Catalano, is a great way to stay motivated all year. You can enter solo or split the mileage between 1-2 running/walking friends.

Each entrant (regardless of sharing the mileage on a team) will be motivated through a like-minded private Facebook community and encouraged to continue the journey with the opportunity to win prizes. 2) Meet Me On Mars

Moon Joggers is looking for 30,000 runners/walkers to join their community with a commitment to run/walk an average of 1,000 miles in 2015. However, you are in charge of choosing your mileage goal for the year and are assigned a corresponding ranking, i.e. 500 miles for a Cadet or 1,000 miles for an Officer.

Joining is free, but there are options to show your participation like decals, t-shirts, and medals ranging from $19.99 to $57.99. Paying participants will be entered into drawings for a charity spot in the Chicago Marathon, Boston Marathon, and New York City Marathon.

3) The 2015 Puppy Love Run

Benefiting the World Animal Protection, the virtual 2015 Puppy Love Run will be held between Saturday, February 14 through Sunday, February 22nd, 2015. Runners can choose their distance of 5K, 10K, or a half marathon.

Entry fees are $25 before January 17th and $30 after 11 p.m. on January 17th. Get a premium 9”x6” personalized race bib mailed to you for an extra $5 if registered by January 17th.

4) Resolution Run

Virtual Strides benefits numerous charities throughout the year with their virtual race series. The Resolution Run can be completed anytime until January 31st, 2015 in the 5K, 10K, and half marathon distances.

Proceeds benefit Children International, a charity that provides assistance to children and families in poverty. For $25 during the event ($27 post-event), runners will receive a personalized race bib via email and a 4-inch medal to commemorate the run.

5) Get Out And Run

As just one of the offerings of US Road Running, the Get Out And Run series encourages runners to get out each month to race a 5K, 10K, and half marathon at their convenience.

The charitable racing company does host live events in southeastern Pennsylvania, but they offer countless series for virtual racers as well. Entry fees (including medals) range from $14.99-$16.99 and t-shirts can be purchased separately for $13.99.
