Appalachian Series Marathon & Half Marathon in Eufala, AL

The Appalachian Series is a seven (7) day running race series that takes place throughout the US, including West Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and of course, Alabama, which runs on day one (1) of the series.

It also happens to be known as “The World’s Best Running Series!”

Largely flat and paved, this down-and-back trail race is a faster course of its kind, surrounded by wooded foliage and trees shading your every step to keep you cool, though you might not need it at 5:30 in the morning at an average of 11.7 degrees Fahrenheit.

Taking runners along the Yoholo-Micco Trail via a winding paved trail crossing Lake Eufaula, participants can expect mixed woodlands, grassy meadows, railroad tracks, and if you are lucky, sites of a hidden waterfall.

Starting at Yoholo-Micco Trail on 406 East Broad Street, this paved rail and trail course boasts moderate shade throughout and is designed as a down-and-back looping course comprising a total of six (6) laps for the half marathon.

Simple in its design yet difficult in its execution, runners are simply asked to show up and give it their best. Staying on the trail and repeating your steps along the Micco Trail can be mentally challenging, but that’s what distance racing is all about, right?!

If it’s the first ever half marathon you’ve participated in, you’re in for a special surprise once you’ve crossed the finish line because this awesome event awards first-timers with their very own commemorative gift.

With no time limit and a small participant cap of around 100, all you’ve got to focus on is running your race, having fun, and making sure you cross that finish line safely and in style; then it’s onto the celebration!
