In double digits with its 11th year, the annual Buckeye Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k is sure to be a banger, with 530 elevation loss throughout the course; it’s a fan favorite for a reason!
Beloved for its emphatically downhill course structure, runners best be prepared to go fast. Apart from the performance surely to be had on the course, this event is also known for its awe-inspiring natural beauty that’s presented to the runners’ eyes for the duration of the half marathon, taking participants along the foothills of the White Tank Mountains.
Starting and finishing at the Buckeye Municipal Airport, this race quickly takes runners through the beautiful White Tank Mountains before ending back at the speedy runway of Buckeye Municipal Airport.
Getting into the specifics, runners make an immediate turn onto South Palo Verd Road, crossing Pearl Harbor Memorial Highway, then onto Sun Valley Parkway. From there, runners, hang a left onto West Thomas Road before hanging a right quickly after onto North Brunner Road.
Once they reach the roundabout, it’s back to North Brunner Road where they’ll retrace their footsteps back to the start line/finish line.
So, what’s in it for you besides sore knees and a rest day? For starters, an epic custom finisher’s medal; wouldn’t be a race without one! Second, all runners will be fitted with a dry-fit event t-shirt that they can wear before, during, or after they cross the finish line.
Finally, a runners’ brunch invite will be sent to all participants and their supporters to celebrate the completion of the race and the end of an awesome day.

Race Weather & Climate
Buckeye, Arizona, is situated in the southwestern part of the state, offering a suburban lifestyle with easy access to Phoenix, the nearest major city, located approximately 30 miles to the east.
By early January, Buckeye experiences cool winter temperatures. Daytime highs average around 63°F (17°C), with nighttime lows cooling to about 39°F (4°C). Precipitation levels remain low.
On race day (January 11), the average low is 42ºF and the average high is 60ºF.
