Arnold Rim Trail Endurance Runs 37M 22M Half Marathon & 10k in Arnold CA

The Arnold Rim Trail Endurance Runs, now in its 3rd annual installment, was more than just a race. It was a testament to the power of community, cooperation, and the sheer beauty of the great outdoors. Produced by Pacific Coast Trail Runs in collaboration with a multitude of partners, including the Arnold Rim Trail Association, White Pines Park Committee, Calaveras Visitors Bureau, Vallecito Union School District, the U.S. Forest Service, and the surrounding communities, this event had evolved into something truly remarkable.

There were four challenging events on offer: the 37-miler, half marathon, 10K, and the newly added “point-to-point” 22-miler. The 37-miler, the most demanding of them all, began and ended at White Pines Lake Park. It navigated the Arnold Rim Trail to the Heliport Aid Station and back, showcasing the vast and rugged beauty of the region. The half marathon and 10K races were equally breathtaking, following out-and-back routes along this multi-use trail.

The Arnold Rim Trail, a true gem among nature’s offerings, provided an extraordinary setting for this race. Amidst towering trees, the single-track course felt like a double-wide trail, ensuring ease of use for participants of all types, whether on horseback, mountain bikes, hiking, or running. Nestled in the tranquil town of Arnold, standing at an elevation of 4,000 feet, this event promised a pristine running experience on meticulously maintained trails.

What made this year’s race particularly special was the recent expansion of the course. ARTA had added another four miles to the trail, effectively transforming it into a “point-to-point” 22-miler. This alteration piqued the interest of seasoned runners and newcomers alike, offering a fresh and invigorating challenge for all.

However, the essence of this event extended far beyond the racecourse. It was a tribute to the Arnold Rim Trail Association, who had worked tirelessly over the years to create and nurture this magnificent trail. Their dedication and collaborative spirit, involving local, state, and federal officials, made the Arnold Rim Trail an extraordinary asset to the community.

As the runners lined up at the starting line, they knew they were part of something special—a celebration of nature, a testament to human determination, and a vibrant community coming together to support a shared passion. The Arnold Rim Trail Endurance Runs was more than a race; it was a journey through pristine wilderness, a journey that runners and organizers would continue to embark on for years to come, creating memories and camaraderie along the way.
