Sunday, September 20, 2020 • Van Nuys, CA • Course Map
Featuring a mostly flat course that runs through the farmlands just south of this Southern California community between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, the Harvest Half Marathon offers only slight elevation changes and just a few turns, making it a great race for a fall PR.
The race will feature a wave start where runners will line up according to their pace allowing the faster groups to start first.
The course for the Harvest Half Marathon moves this year from Camarillo, Calif., to Van Nuys, where runners will follow a double-loop route that starts and finishes in the Japanese Garden section of Woodley Park.
From there, they’ll follow the trails that wind through the park in roughly a clockwise direction, running all the way around the southern end of the Encino Municipal Golf Course, Balboa Golf Course and Woodley Lakes Golf Course twice before heading back to the Japanese garden for the race finish.
The top three overall male and female runners will receive awards as well as the top three in each age group category. All finishers will receive a medal, and runners will have 4 hours to complete the course.
