Saturday, March 24, 2018 • San Francisco, CA • Course Map
Get ready to burn off some calories at this race, which features a hilly course with a mixture of single track, crushed gravel, and asphalt. The out-and-back course travels along the north end of San Francisco with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Bay as backdrops.
Runners will start and finish at the Little Marina Green in the Marina District of San Francisco. The course travels west along the coastline and runners will head towards the Golden Gate Bridge. As they make their way past Fort Point Historic Site, racers will pick up the Coastal Trail as they continue on along the Bay.
The Coastal Trail will take runners past Baker Beach, a popular spot for hiking, picnicking, and soaking in the views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Runners will then take El Camino Del Mar and continue traveling west past China Beach. Once they approach Lincoln Park, the course picks up the Coastal Trail again.
Inside the park, runners will be afforded views of Pyramid Rock, Black Head Rock, and Los Lobos Rock. These windswept rocks that have proven to difficult to navigate in the shipping channel can be spotted quite easily on clear days.
Runners will continue through Lincoln Park all the way to Point Lobos before making a U-turn to the finish, which they’ll cross back at East Beach near Little Marina Green.
The course will continue back in the same manner that runners took on the way out. However, once they reach the Golden Gate Promenade, racers will travel along the Lagoon Loop twice to make for the 13.1 mile distance. The finish line will be waiting for runners at the Little Marina Green.
All finishers will receive a custom medal. The first male and female overall will receive an award as well as the top 3 finishers in each age group. Runners are welcome to enjoy beef and pork sliders by City Smoke House after the race and a free cold beer will be offered by Lucky 13.
