Woodside/Purisima Creek Crossover Trail Half Marathon, 10K, 35K & 50K

Sunday, April 7, 2019 • Woodside, CA • Course Map

Runners follow a winding, out-and-back course along the trails of Huddart Park near Redwood City at the Woodside/Purisima Creek Crossover Trail Half Marathon, 10K, 35K & 50K (Woodside Ramble before 2016), one of a series of races held here in this 973-acre park throughout the year.

The race starts at the Werder Picnic Area, which lies near the eastern edge of the park just off Kings Mountain Road and Huddart Park Road. From there, the course begins by heading south along the Dean Trail, taking runners past a huge open lawn that is often used as a picnic area.

After about a mile, the Dean Trail connects with the Archery Fire Road Trail, which runs partly alongside Kings Mountain Road. Runners will be able to hear the occasional driver alongside the trees and clay soil, but no worries–there won’t be any car drivers on the actual trail.

Runners will continue along the entirety of the Archery Fire Road Trail before continuing on the Summit Springs Trail, then make a right onto Crystal Springs Trail which allows visitors to view the Upper Crystal Springs Reservoir and other natural landmarks. The trail is commonly hiked and ran and runners may even see a horseback rider or two.

After this trail comes the Richard’s Road Trail which offers a paved path for marathoners to run. The trial is lined by seemingly sky-high trees that create a canopy above the road. Runners may encounter hikers and others while on this trail.

After re-connecting to the Summit Springs Trail, runners will repeat the Crystal Springs Trail Run. This trail is the last leg of the race before runners reach the finish line in a similar area to the one they started. Once the trail ends, runners will find themselves once again in a large grassy area, the perfect place to rest and take a breather.
