You Can Make a Firefighter’s Family’s Year by Running This Half Marathon

blue-red-run1If you’ve ever wanted to find a way to give back to the police officers and firefighters who keep our communities safe every day, consider the all-new Blue Red Run Half Marathon, which makes its debut this November in Irving, Texas, just a short drive from nearby Dallas.

This race, which starts at Williams Square in Irving’s Las Colinas area — which is perhaps most well-known for its famed Mustangs at Los Colinas statues — takes runners on the flat, wooded Campion trails, which unfold along the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.

Make a HUGE difference for a family

The best part about the race is the charities it raises money for: the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation, the Firefighters & Police Officers Memorial Fund and Michael’s Memories, which assists the families of firefighters who are fighting cancer by paying for their family vacation, to ease the pain and trauma of cancer care for those families.

If you’re looking for a flat race, this is your run — the elevation changes little throughout the race (except for the first couple and last couple of miles).
