Set for its 8th annual running, the Chilly Willy running festival includes a certified half marathon, 10k, and 5k, perfect for ringing in the New Year.
The half marathon is “New England flat,” which means that racers should be prepared to conquer a few hills. The 5k and 10k courses are both flat and fast.
As for course support, along the half marathon course, runners will have seven water stops and a porta-potty available at Mile 5. Due to COVID-19, not all water stops on the course will be manned, but there will be water with cups filled for runners to take.
The race begins at the Seekonk YMCA, where parking is also available.
Race Climate & Weather
Located in Bristol County, MA, near the Massachusetts border with Rhode Island, Seekonk is known for cold and snowy winters.
In January, the city’s average monthly temperatures range between 24°F and 53°F, while precipitation amounts average about 2.3 inches for the month. On the day of the race (Jan. 1), the average low is 27°F and the average high is 37°F.
