Unique in that it’s a women’s-only event, the Valkyries Trail Race comprises a 4-mile, 8-mile, half marathon, 30k, marathon, and 50k that all take place in Cheyenne Mountain State Park.
Trail Runners, Challenging Course, Scenic Views. Upward through Cheyenne Mountain, all participants will enjoy the spectacle that is the state park and its beautiful landscapes.
Through technical rocky paths amidst cool pine trees, and steep elevation climbs and descents, this course is surely not for the faint of heart. During the dead of Spring, this Colorado Springs women’s-only event is surely not one to miss.
Starting and finishing on 410 State Park Road in Cheyenne Mountain State Park, the half marathon takes runners through a single-track trail comprising crushed limestone and gravel, and elevation gains and losses of 2470’ respectively,
As a cupless event, the host encourages all participants to come prepared in advance with their own reusable bottles. There will be, however, aid stations and water dispensers throughout the course.
All runners will receive a goody swag bag comprising a race shirt and bib. Included also is a custom headband and, for those who complete the course successfully, a finisher’s medal.

Colorado Springs, positioned in the southern part of Colorado, is situated roughly 70 miles south of Denver, famed for its picturesque surroundings and as a significant military city.
