Country Sole Half Marathon, 10K & 5K

Country twang meets urban tour in the Country Sole Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, which makes its annual running along Chicago’s lakefront this October.

This atmospheric race offers country-inspired swag, BBQ pulled pork sliders and beer at the finish line, and live country music at the post-race party.

This looped course starts and ends at Montrose Harbor, offering participants and spectators alike gorgeous views of Lake Michigan.

From the starting line, racers travel north for their first two miles, tracing the coast along Montrose and Foster Beach before turning to travel back through Uptown Chicago. Along the city streets, racers pass by a number of Chicago highlights, including Diversity Harbor, the Lincoln Park Zoo, and the Chicago History Museum.

As the race loops back at mile 9 toward the finish line, Lake Michigan comes into view again. Lake effect breezes and breathtaking coastal sights give runners the extra boost they need to finish strong!

Ample support is offered throughout the race, with 7 aid stations offering water and sports drinks. The course itself is flat and fast, ideal for a first-time half marathoner or a veteran looking to PR. With a 3 hour and 30 minute time limit for the half marathon, runners should expect to maintain a 16-minute mile or faster pace.
