For runners at the late October Ashland Half Marathon, the starting and finish line area is a part of running history, as it marks the original starting line for the legendary Boston Marathon. From the start in Marathon Park on Pleasant Street in Ashland, the course makes a figure-eight-shaped loop along a combination of rural roads and residential neighborhoods just outside Boston, including a stretch around Ashland State Park and the park’s reservoir.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
