From the starting line on Main Street in downtown Bar Harbor, next to the Mount Desert Island YMCA, runners and walkers in the half marathon will make their way north to West Street and later turn on Duck Brook Road. After that, they’ll begin a 9-mile stretch through the carriage roads of Acadia National Park, which will be car-free and filled mostly with gently rolling hills, save for a climb between miles 6 and 7. After that, the race heads back into town, where you’ll cross the finish line on the athletic fields across from the YMCA.
