Made up mostly of rolling hills through the Amish countryside here in Lancaster County in southeastern Pennsylvania, the Bird-in-Hand Half Marathon takes runners on a course that starts and finishes in this small village of just over 300 residents. Amish families will be out on the course helping out with refreshments at the water stations, and there will also be cycling events and hot air balloon rides and races during the weekend.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
