Runners follow a looping, winding trail route through the forest in Carter Caves State Resort Park, starting at the Fraley Amphitheatre inside the park. From there, the race winds along park trails that run through rock overhangs and bridges and past several of the park’s best-known caves, along a course that organizers say is “challenging” and designed for runners “who have previously competed in more advanced trail running events.”
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
