The Louisiana Half Marathon course features an out-and-back route that starts and finishes at downtown Baton Rouge’s State Capitol Park, and then takes runners east and south through the city’s garden district. After that, runners make their way down toward the campus of Louisiana State University, where they’ll run around the edges of the university’s LSU Tiger Stadium, and then follow a loop around University Lake before heading back north to the state capitol for the race finish line. At the southern end of the lake, those running the half marathon will split off from the full marathoners at Cornell Avenue, and continue northeast along Stanford Avenue.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
