Both the half and the full marathons share the same finishing line but have different starting points — the half marathon begins at Anchorage’s Delaney Park Strip on West 9th Avenue, while those running the full start their race at Bartlett High School. Run on paved surfaces through the early miles, the race course stays mostly flat through mile markers one through three, and then becomes hillier as runners make their way around the western edge of the park.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
