Course Map: Napa Valley Trail Half Marathon

Challenging and hilly, the Napa Valley Trail Half Marathon course takes runners through the gorgeous natural scenery of Calistoga, California’s Bothe Napa Valley State Park, which is surrounded by forests of towering redwood, oak and bay trees. Runners in the half marathon make two clockwise loops along the route shown below, while those running the full marathon will make four loops plus an additional out-and-back stretch, including stretches along the Coyote Peak Trail, South Fork Trail, Ritchey Canyon Trail and Redwood Trail.

I am considering registering for the half marathon and I am wondering considering the location on a scale from 1 to 10, 10 being the hardest how challenging this will be? I have ran 2 half marathons before but the course has been flat and paved. I am up for a challenge but I am concerned about the hills.

    Thank you,
