Runners follow an out-and-back course through the fast, flat streets of Washington, D.C., at the Navy-Air Force Half, which starts and finishes at 15th Street, between Constitution Avenue and Madison Drive, next to the Washington Monument. From there, the race winds first around the Tidal Basin and then along East Potomac Park, and then a 3 1/2-mile-long stretch along the Potomac River. Runners follow the Rock Creek & Potomac Parkway all the way to the split with Beach Drive, and then retrace their steps back to the Washington Monument for the race finish.
