From the starting line on Market Street, walkers follow the route for the New Albany Walking Classic through the streets of this small city that lies just outside Columbus and the rolling farmland just outside town, where the course becomes hillier in the second half of the race. Organized by the local New Albany Walking Club, it’s considered the largest walkers-only event anywhere in the U.S.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
