Course Map: Newport Half Marathon

Runners start the out-and-back course for the half marathon at the same starting line as the full marathon, in Newport’s Yaquina Bay State Park next to its famous “haunted” lighthouse. From there, you’ll first head north through some of the city’s neighborhoods, a stretch the organizers say ” is primarily residential with a few short gentle hills and turns at street corners.” After you complete your first three miles, you’ll run back through Yaquina Bay State Park and then spend most of the rest of the race running alongside the Yaquina River. The turnaround point occurs around mile 8.7, and then you’ll finish near Embarcadero Resort, where Southeast Moore Drive meets Southeast Bay Boulevard.
