Runners follow an out-and-back flag-shaped race route at the annual Labor Day weekend running of Geneseo’s Oak Tree Half Marathon, which starts and finishes near Geneseo Central School on Avon Road. Along the way, the route takes runners past the Nations Road Grasslands that lie just north of this small city in the Finger Lakes region of New York, and past the majestic Oak Tree savannahs of the Genesee Valley, featuring many trees that are more than three centuries old.
