Runners start the New Balance Palm Desert Half Marathon course in Civic Center Park, where they head out on a loop course through the northern parts of Palm Desert. Though much of the race follows through residential neighborhoods and urban areas, there’s plenty of Coachella Valley scenery from the snow-capped mountains that look over the course and the desert flora and fauna along the way. The course has a few gradual inclines but no major hills, making this course a good one for first-timers.
