Course Map: Publix Georgia Half Marathon

From the starting line area along Marietta Street, next to downtown Atlanta’s Centennial Park, the Publix Georgia Half Marathon shares the same course as the full marathon for the first seven miles, and takes runners and walkers through several of Atlanta’s historic intown neighborhoods — like the Sweet Auburn district, Inman Park and Virginia-Highlands — as well as through its largest urban park, Piedmont Park, before running past the Georgia Tech campus on the way back to the finish line in Centennial Park.

This race sucks, every year the people living inside the boundary rode’s are held prisoner Sunday morning. Last year I was unable to reach the emergency room. The year before I missed a seminar I registered and paid for. This year I will likely miss an important morning appointment. Why should everyone living in town be inconvenienced every year by this race. There are many more people living in town being inconvenienced than there are running the race. Take it to Cobb county.
