Like the 26.2-mile distance, the 13.1-mile CarMax Richmond Half Marathon at the Allianz Richmond Marathon begins downtown at the corner of 7th Street and Broad Street, and follows Broad Street northwest for a long straightaway for the first two and a half miles of the race. The half marathon route takes runners to entirely different parts of the city as well, including Joseph Bryan Park and the notable cheer section of the Northside Neighborhood.
