Hilly with a few steep climbs and descents in spots, the out-and-back Santa Cruz Half Marathon starts and finishes at the corner of Main and Beach Streets. From there, runners follow the course as it heads south toward the coastline along West Cliff Drive, and then north along Swanton Boulevard and Natural Bridges Drive. Runners then follow the course into Wilder Ranch State Park, where they make a loop turnaround and then head back along the route they’ve just run toward the finish line.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
