Challenging and strenuous, the half marathon race at the Squash Blossom Classic is named in honor of Kent Hodges, a local running enthusiast who died while pursuing his passion for running and the outdoors in 2007. The half marathon route follows an out-and-back course that starts and finishes near the Gamerco trail head of the High Desert Trail System, just off North State Road 491.
