Course Map: Annapolis Running Classic Half Marathon

From the start and finish line at the Navy-Marine Corps Stadium, runners at the Annapolis Half Marathon follow an out-and-back course that winds first through the city’s historic downtown district and around the campus of St. John’s College, and then across the bridge that spans the Severn River for a long out-and-back stretch along Boulters Way and then for just over two miles along the Baltimore and Annapolis Trail.

I ran the half-marathon race on Nov 21. My GPS watch registered a distance of 13.48 miles. I can attest that my GPS watch is not always accurate, but it has only erred by +/- 0.2 miles, never by almost 0.4 miles. The 8 mile marker picked up that I ran it in more than 61 minutes. I know my pace was definitely faster than that for the first 8 miles of the race. Conclusion: your course is flawed and needs to be revised and amended.

Put your cursor at the end of the course map and it registers over 13.1 (13.24) miles. Who needs extra miles with all of the hills?!
