Runners start the out-and-back loop course for The Town’s Half Marathon in front of Oakland’s Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, and from there they make what is roughly a clockwise loop around the city, through Chinatown and past Jack London Square. They’ll also run through Lakeside Park and nearly all the way around Lake Merritt before turning onto 14th Street for the home stretch of the race, which brings them back to where they started for the race finish.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
