Runners follow an out-and-back course along the Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail at the Tom Walker Half Marathon, which starts and finishes near the entrance to Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park just outside Gainesville. From there, the course heads south and east along the running, walking, cycling and horseback riding trail, all the way out to the turnaround point at the intersection with Co. Road 234, and then back to the trailhead for the race finish.
Note: The course map above provides the approximate route for the race. Though every effort has been made to ensure its accuracy, changes are sometimes made to race routes due to weather conditions, road closures or other circumstances that can require a course to be changed.
