From the starting line at the corner of Washington Avenue and West Street near downtown Indianapolis, runners follow a point-to-point route that crosses over the White River twice — the first time early in the first mile, and the second just as they’re heading in to the finish line on the campus of Indiana University. In between, runners make their way west to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where they’ll run a full circle around the speedway around the mid-way point of the half marathon.
