Starting runners off with the boom of the cannon at the Alamo in downtown San Antonio, the half marathon takes the field on an out-and-back tour of the city, with stretches through Conception Park, Roosevelt Park, and along stretches of the San Antonio River. While the second half of the course is a gentle uphill climb, the rest of the race features mostly gently rolling hills and mostly flat terrain.
