Runners follow a mostly flat and fast course at the Alaska Salmon Runs’ Sockeye Half Marathon, thanks to Cordova’s location near sea level along the Orca Inlet of Prince William Sound and Eyat Lake. Both the full and the half marathons feature a combination of gravel and paved roads, and the half marathon starts at the half-way point of the full marathon course, which is mostly paved all the way to the finish line.
