The biggest changes in elevation at San Diego’s America’s Finest City Half Marathon come early on in the race, as runners are trekking through Point Loma, from the starting line at the Point Loma Lighthouse. As the race heads through the neighborhoods toward Balboa Park and the San Diego Zoo, the course features some final hills, though they’re not too challenging — in the home stretch, the course rises less than 200 feet in elevation from its lowest point to its highest inside the park.
