Runners start the Artichoke Half Marathon course at Duarte’s Tavern, which lies near the intersection of Pescadero Creek Road and Stage Road, just a few minutes’ drive from the coastline and Pescadero State Beach. Most of the course takes runners along paved country roads with a number of rolling hills, but the route also runs through the beach and coastal areas, including three miles of trails.
