Runners start the Avocado Half Marathon route next to Town Square Park and Murrieta Elementary School, along Juniper Street. From there, the race heads southwest along Juniper and then northwest along Washington Avenue, heading past Murrieta Valley High School and into the residential neighborhoods just to the northwest, where you’ll hit some of the hilliest portions of the race. The final few miles, which unfold along Hayes Avenue, Guava Street and Washington Avenue, are some of the flattest of the race.
