Runners start the out-and-back course for the Beaver Island Half Marathon overlooking Paradise Bay downtown, next to the Beaver Island Ferry Dock along Main Street. From there, they’ll run south to Kings Highway, which they’ll stay on for nearly the next three miles, a long stretch that unfolds around Font Lake and Round Lake, all the way into the scenic Barneys Lake Nature Preserve. This gravel road then heads north, where you’ll run along the shoreline of Lake Michigan, and then head back into town, where you’ll run paved roads through town back to Paradise Bay for the finish.
