Runners follow the same course used at the Brazen New Year’s Day Half Marathon, just run in the opposite direction — while they run a clockwise route on January 1, they’ll run a counter-clockwise route in December. Otherwise, the starting and and finish lines for the race remain the same, near the southern end of Lake Chabot inside Anthony Chabot Regional Park. The biggest hills come around the midpoint of the race, and runners will come back to the marina to cross the finish line.
