Runners will cross 13 bridges over the 13.1 miles of the half marathon at the Brückeläufe Bridge Race, which starts and finishes in Frankenmuth’s Heritage Park. From there, the course heads around the peninsula-like loop of land that lies along the Cass River, and from there runners head south and west across the river, passing over notable bridges like the Holtz Brucke covered bridge and the Black Bridge. While there are some rolling hills, most of the race is fast and flat and run on paved surfaces, and runners can expect mostly gradual uphill and downhill stretches.
