Runners follow an out-and-back course for the Chicagoland Spring Half Marathon, which runs largely through Busse Woods, the park that’s also called the Ned Brown Preserve and lies just outside the Schaumburg commercial district, about 30 miles west of downtown Chicago. The race starts and finishes just off I-290 near Higgins Road, and then unfolds along the running, walking and biking paths within the park.
