Runners follow an out-and-back route at the Comb Ridge Classic, which starts and finishes at the Comb Wash Campground, about 14 miles from Blanding. From there, the race heads north along the Comb Wash dirt road, heading all the way for the next 6 1/2 miles to the race turnaround point on Route 228, climbing nearly 1,000 feet between the start and the half-way point. Then it’s downhill for the same thousand feet on the way back to the finish line.
